讲座题目：The LHC status and a roadmap to high Luminosity

　　Abstract：The LHC started already 8 years ago. In the first  part, I will illustrate  the main reasons of the success  of RUN 1. The second part I will concentrate onto the restart in 2015 after the long shutdown 1 (2013-2015). An Energy Increase up to 6.5 TeV and the tremendous effort by all teams involved in the LHC allowed to achieve and exceed the design Luminosity 1*10 34 in June 2016. At last, the future operation of LHC will be mentioned.

　　Professional experience: 

　　Be involved with accelerators since 1984 - started as an operator in the Super Proton Synchrotron in the Operation Group. 

　　In 1987 became shift Leader in charge for PPbar program, later for the Large Electron Positron Collider. 

　　From 1992 -1999, was responsible for Beam quality and efficiency on the Injected beam into LEP. 

　　In 2000, joined the LHC Machine Protection team. 

　　In 2004, was assigned to design the new SPS extraction interlock for LHC. 

　　During the LHC first start in 2008 he was Coordinator of the LHC Machine Cold Check Out & LHC Beam test (transfer Lines and Injection). 

　　In 2010 Rossano became member of the LHC Beam-Beam study-working group. 

　　Since 2008 Shift Leader he is in charge of the LHC operation. 

　　Since 2013 he is the Accelerator Reliability Workshop chairman.
