报告摘要:
This presentation includes two parts. In the first part, I will briefly introduce the life in King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) and in Saudi Arabia and the research in KFUPM’s new Center for Integrative Petroleum Research (CIPR). We are developing exciting research programs in CIPR and are recruiting outstanding young scientists as postdocs and research scientists. In the second part, I will discuss my group’s research in persistent luminescence phosphors emitting in the near-infrared, short-wave infrared and ultraviolet spectral regions. I will also discuss our efforts in developing low-energy-light charging techniques to charge persistent phosphors and the applications of persistent phosphors.
个人简介:
Dr. Zhengwei Pan received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Shandong University of Technology (now Shandong University) in 1990 and 1993, respectively, and his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnic University in 1997 (under the supervision of Prof. Litong Zhang). He conducted postdoctoral research at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, City University of Hong Kong and Georgia Institute of Technology before became a Staff Scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He joined University of Georgia in 2006 and became a full professor in 2016. He moved to King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in August 2018 as a Senior Research Scientist and Program leader of the Colloids and Interface Program in KFUPM’s Center for Integrated Petroleum Research. Dr. Pan’s research interests focus on nanomaterials and persistent luminescence materials. He is the recipient of US National Science Foundation Early CAREER award (2010). He has published more than 100 research papers. More information about Dr. Pan can be found at http://cpg.kfupm.edu.sa/bio/dr-zhengwei-pan/.
