Over the past 8 years, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) has started joining the society of Superconducting RF in accelerator applications. With the demand of higher luminosity from Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), electron cooling project, future electron ion collider, and the support to LHC, and due to the uniqueness of these machines, the SRF activities in BNL is expanding in many different challenging frontiers. I will go over the main SRF activities currently ongoing at BNL, both under commissioning and in design stage.

A high luminosity Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) is the next the highest priority for new facility construction for nuclear science in US following the completion of FRIB. eRHIC, the proposed EIC at Brookhaven National Laboratory, is aiming on 10-100x luminosity than the only EIC in the history, HERA. To fulfill such goal, eRHIC includes an innovative accelerator design which associated with new accelerator physics challenges. This talk will review the challenges to fulfill the physics requirement, which include the multi-pass Energy Recovery Linacs, special beam-beam effect in the new accelerator layout, crab crossing collision scheme and more topics.
