摘要/Abstract: The IceCube Neutrino Observatory, completed in 2010, has uncovered a cosmic flux of neutrinos above PeV energies, marking a breakthrough in multimessenger astronomy. This report will summarize key IceCube results, including the detection of the Glashow resonance candidate, extragalactic and galactic diffuse flux measurements, and real-time alerts. This report will also present an ongoing analysis of the Cygnus Cocoon region, observed by Fermi, ARGO, HAWC, and LHAASO, detecting photons up to ~1.4 PeV. Neutrino detection could confirm the hadronic origin of these photons. This study searches for electron, muon, and tau neutrinos from this region, using 13 years of IceCube data.

个人简介/Biography: Lu Lu is an assistant professor at UW–Madison in the Department of Physics. Her ultimate goals are to discover the origins of the highest energy particles and to understand their acceleration mechanisms. She did her Ph.D., on searching for EeV photons, at the University of Leeds and Universität Wuppertal. She then moved to Chiba, Japan, and performed searches for PeV neutrinos using IceCube data, leading to the detection of the first Glashow resonance neutrino candidate. She is a member of the IceCube Real-time Oversight Committee and focuses on the extreme-high-energy (EHE) alert channel. She also contributed to R&D of a new sensor designed for the IceCube Upgrade and will continue efforts for the high-energy extension of IceCube-Gen2. As a hobby project, she co-developed an augmented reality app, ICEcuBEAR, to visualize IceCube real-time alerts on mobile phones.
