题目/Title1: Galactic Stellar-mass Black Holes as PeVatrons

摘要/Abstract:
Galactic stellar-mass black holes, both isolated black holes and those in binary systems, are considered as potential candidates for Galactic PeVatrons. The recent discovery of TeV–PeV gamma-ray emission from microquasars by LHAASO strengthens the scenario of microquasar as PeVatrons, although the physical origin of the gamma rays remains unclear. In addition, LHAASO has identified mysterious "dark" sources with no clear counterparts at lower gamma-ray energies, posing a new astrophysical puzzle. In this talk, I will present our modeling of gamma-ray emission from magnetized accretion flows in LHAASO-detected microquasars, where hadronic interactions by protons accelerated by magnetized turbulence can explain the LHAASO data. I will also discuss a scenario in which isolated black holes, wandering within molecular clouds, contribute to the population of LHAASO dark sources and PeV cosmic rays observed on Earth.

Shigeo S. KIMURA is an associate professor at Frontier Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences and Astronomical Institute, Tohoku University. I study high-energy astrophysical phenomena, including non-thermal processes in black hole accretion flows and active galactic nuclei, electromagnetic and neutrino radiations from gravitational wave sources, microphysics of particle acceleartion, origin of cosmic rays and astrophysical neutrinos. I also study star & planet formation, especially the dynamics of protoplanetary disks.
