摘要/Abstract: 

The Galactic Center is one of the most extreme environments in the Milky Way and a key target for understanding the origin of high-energy cosmic rays. Very-high-energy (VHE) gamma rays provide a powerful probe of particle acceleration and transport in this region. In this talk, I review recent progress in VHE gamma-ray observations of the Galactic Center. The main focus is on new results from the HAWC observatory enabled by improved gamma/proton separation methods. These advances reveal a new gamma-ray source, J1730, near the Galactic Center and increase the detection significance of the Galactic Center region from 6.3σ to 8.6σ.


个人简介/Biography: 

Zhen Wang received his Ph.D. from the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Chinese Academy of Sciences, under the supervision of Prof. Hongbo Hu. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Previously, he held postdoctoral positions at the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute (TDLI), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is a member of the HAWC Collaboration and previously worked with the LHAASO experiment, contributing to detector calibration, data reconstruction, and physics analyses. His research focuses on very-high-energy gamma-ray astrophysics
