● 来访学者信息/ Bio
Dr. Yilun Guan is the Schmidt AI in Science Fellow at the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics, University of Toronto. Specializing in CMB and Observational Cosmology, Dr. Guan has played a key role in international projects like ACT and SO, focusing on theoretical modeling, pipeline development, and data analysis. He developed key computational tools and produced precise CMB maps. His future plans include advancing precision cosmology through the AliCPT project, constructing cutting-edge data infrastructure, and nurturing the next generation of scientists.

Seminar 1: Probing the Varying Sky with Cosmology Telescopes
Abstract:
Next-generation ground-based CMB telescopes, such as the Simons Observatory, scan across over half the sky every day. This high cadence presents an exciting opportunity for finding transient signals. In this talk, I will give a pedagogical introduction to the methods used to detect different classes of transients, and review recent progress in this emerging field.
Seminar 2: Millimeter Astronomy with the Next-Generation CMB Experiments
Abstract:
Next-generation ground-based CMB experiments promise unprecedented precision in mapping the sky at millimeter wavelengths. I will highlight recent progress and challenges from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) in producing the most precise CMB map to date. These high-fidelity maps unlock new frontiers in millimeter astronomy, ranging from time-domain astronomy and probes of fundamental symmetries to mapping structure growth and inflationary physics.
