题目/Title:FRB science results from CHIME

摘要/Abstract:

Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are an extragalactic radio transient phenomena with large energetics (~Jy),short timescales (~ms), and mysterious origins. Understanding their origin has become a central problem in astrophysics. I will present FRB science results from CHIME, an interferometric telescope at radio frequencies 400-800 MHz. Since coming online, the CHIME/FRB project has found an order of magnitude more FRBs  than all other telescopes combined, revolutionizing the world of FRB science. In this talk, I will talk about the instrument, the recent science progress, and the perspective with the upcoming experiments, CHIME outrigger, and CHORD.

个人简介/Biography:

Dr. Dongzi Li is a Lyman Spitzer, Jr.  Postdoctoral Fellow at Princeton. She obtained her PhD from the University of Toronto in 2021 and was a Sherman Fairchild Postdoc Fellow at Caltech 2020-2023. She works on the theory, observation and modelling of Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs), pulsars, as well as using them to probe cosmic matter distribution and magnetic structures.
