 Collider experiments are crucial for understanding matter’s structure and testing particle interaction theories. However, simulating scattering processes is challenging due to the complexity of time evolution and the limitations of classical methods like Monte Carlo simulations and Tensor Networks. Quantum computing offers a promising alternative by enabling efficient simulations of real-time dynamics in lattice field theories. In this talk, I will present our work for simulating fermion scattering using digital quantum computing. The initial state, consisting of two fermionic wave packets with opposite momenta, is prepared using Givens rotations. These packets evolve and interact with each other under a Hamiltonian-based time evolution operator. Using the lattice Thirring model, we observe elastic scattering between fermions and anti-fermions in the strong interaction regime by tracking particle density and entropy. Additionally, a small-scale demonstration on IBM’s quantum hardware showcases the method’s feasibility for current and near-term quantum devices. Finally, I will present the ongoing work on meson scattering, introducing how to construct proper meson operators to excite physical meson states.
个人简介
柴雅卉,现任德国DESY博士后研究员。2016年毕业于中国科学技术大学,获理论物理学士学位;2021年于北京大学获得理论物理博士学位,师从刘川教授。自2023年起,在德国DESY从事博士后研究工作。其研究领域涵盖量子计算在粒子物理、多体物理及组合优化问题中的应用,以及相关算法的优化。
